Chatham's Master of Sustainability in Environmental Management (MSEM) is dedicated to developing forward-thinking professionals who are equipped to tackle the pressing environmental challenges of our time. Our program integrates scientific knowledge, policy analysis, and practical skills to empower students to create sustainable solutions that balance ecological integrity, economic viability, and social equity. Through collaborative learning, community engagement, and hands-on experiences, we strive to inspire a new generation of leaders committed to fostering resilient ecosystems and sustainable communities for a healthier planet.
Priority deadline for fall enrollment is February 1. Submit all materials by this date for fellowship and assistantship consideration. Regular deadline for fall enrollment is July 1. Regular deadline for spring enrollment is November 1.

Located 20 miles north of Pittsburgh, Chatham’s 388-acre Eden Hall Farm serves as a living and learning laboratory, offering research and employment opportunities that involve food and sustainable agriculture, water, energy, climate, and community health. Collaborations with local businesses, government, non-profits, farms, purveyors, and restaurants across the region provide students with hands-on, experiential learning that sets the Falk School apart. Sustainability graduate students have completed projects with the City of Pittsburgh, the Borough of Mars, Middlesex Community Action, the Millvale Community Development Corporation, and the Millvale and Triboro Ecodistricts, among others.
Chatham's Sustainability in Environmental Management faculty members are accomplished teachers, scholars, practitioners, and active leaders in the field. They serve as mentors and advisors and are there for you every step of the way.

The cost of a graduate degree consists of university tuition (per credit charge), fees, and any other personal expenses you may require for earning your degree.
