Admission Requirements

  1. Completed free online application.
  2. Copy of official transcripts of all completed college-level coursework from all schools attended with proof of completion of a BSN degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA
  3. Proof of active, unencumbered RN license in your state
  4. Current résumé/curriculum vitae
  5. Admissions Essay: In at least 500 words, describe a potential clinical problem that you could impact as a nurse executive using evidence-based intervention(s). Include why you are interested in this problem and explain why it is a problem warranting change to impact patient and/or organizational outcomes.
    • The essay submission must be an original piece of work and not a previous academic assignment.
    • The essay should be at least 500 words and professional, not personal.
    • While you may not currently function in a direct care role, be sure the problem can be tied to patient outcomes.
    • The problem addressed in the essay may be used as the focus of the evidence-based practice clinical immersion experience project pending faculty approval once enrolled in the DNP program.
    • Essays should be written according to APA Style 7thEdition formatting and be free from spelling and grammatical errors.
    • Beyond content and writing, the essay will be assessed for plagiarism and/or artificial intelligence (AI) generated writing. Applicants are expected to submit original work. Noted plagiarism and use of AI to write the essay may be cause for denial for admission.
  6. A virtual 20-minute interview may be requested.

International Applicants

International Applicants must submit additional documentation to the Office of Admissions. A list of these documents can be found on the International Admission web page.
 
The BSN-DNP program is offered fully online; therefore, all international applicants must complete the program in their current country of residence. International students are still required to attend the mandatory two-day campus residency at the conclusion of the program.
